Garden City Rainy Day Dairies
It rained very hard this weekend, it even began hailing and knocked the power out for a good 24 hours, my laptop and phone were dead so thought it a good time to get a day out with my children and charge up my electronics at a restaurant.
We hid out from the rain at Spur City at the Golf Course Hotel next to Garden City.
I ordered a cesar salad which was very tasty and my boys shared a veggie pizza and french fries.
There are also two caged in trampolines for the kids to jump in.
The restaurant is decorated with some trendy native American decor
They also have a little "movie theater" room for the kids where they can sit on the long carpeted bench seats with pillows and watch movies. It really is a great pick if you have little ones tagging along with you. The restaurant is still called Silver Spur City and use to be apart of a large south African chain restaurant, where they sported signature dressings and dips, however, it is now under new ownership, but kept the same name, sadly the menu is no longer as impressive as it once was and they don't have the signature meals, dressings and dips that use to make this place a great option for date night.
For now I really wouldn't recommend it for the food, but the ambience and perks for the kids remains the same.
After eating we walked back down to Garden City and picked up some groceries at Standard Supermarket, My three year old loved the tiny kid carts you can pick up at the entrance, this was so entertaining for him to have his own cart to shop with, all together it was a great destination for the kids. Outside of Standard Supermarket across from the fountain is an ice cream stand which made for a great ending to a good day of fun and food.
